Help for Overworked IT Departments
Local Technology Company Unveils New Software Development Group

CHERRY HILL, N.J., March 1, 2011 – Companies seeking to create, maintain or upgrade their specialized software don’t have to go it alone. With Information Technology departments stretched thin, outside help can let in-house IT professionals turn their attention back to more important projects that keep the business functioning smoothly.

World Wide Web Communications (3wC), a leader in website and application development for businesses in South Jersey and the tri-state area, announces its new Dedicated Software Development Team to augment, manage and enhance its clients' existing IT teams. The Team, comprised of professionals in a range of core competencies, can work with clients in a number of ways, from guiding and providing strategic planning for their current and future software needs, to essentially becoming their outsourced IT department.

“We’ve found that many companies have long-term development projects, but lack the resources to accomplish them. This new service allows us to better serve our clients and give them the resources they need to grow their businesses,” says Bob Savar, president of 3wC. “The new Software Development Team allows our clients to redirect their existing resources to build other parts of the company, while saving them money and giving them the expertise to complete application projects on-time and on-budget.”

Known for its custom high-end programming, 3wC began experimenting with a Dedicated Software Development Team in 2009. Its biggest client, Evans Delivery, was first to come on board. Evans Delivery, an intermodal trucking company based in Pennsylvania and with offices across the country, began using the 3wC team to augment its own IT department.

According to Chris Giltz, senior vice president of operations at Evans Delivery, the program freed up resources and gave his company “a team of designers, software developers and a project manager who really became very familiar with our business processes. As new opportunities arise, it's much quicker to come to a solution with people who already understand our business instead of trying to bring new people into an established model.”

Several other companies in a variety of industries including healthcare and financial services have contracted with 3wC to utilize the Dedicated Software Development Team approach.

“Our clients rely on us for architecting their software needs. Typically, we would also develop the application,” says Kevin Gilper, CIO at 3wC. “However, with this model if our clients have in-house programming resources, they can use them while we supervise the project. It’s a win-win solution.”
